Why does my dog need blood work done after eating rat bait? - why do people get blood work done

My beagle ate the rat bait, and brought him to the vet emergency. They put him on vitamin K for 3 weeks and is said to have blood work done tomorrow. That is exactly what you want?

  3. Rat poison thins the blood and vermin die from internal bleeding. The vet gave the dog vitamin K, because the liver and increases the levels of enzymes needed to protect an adequate blood cells.
    Its just a formality at this point, because the dog is sick or dead. A small portion may indicate liver damage and kidney. Good Luck
